On June 3rd, 2025, EMBARK College hosted an invigorating event as a part of its “Mental Health and Wellness Week” under the esteemed “ The Better You Series” titled “ Physical Fitness: Gain Insights into Effective Fitness Strategies, and the Importance of Maintaining Physical Health”, the session took place from 11 am to 12 pm and the keynote speaker was a World Champion BodyBuilder and Fitness Advocate, Mahesh Maharjan. His insights into the fitness realm fascinated a diverse group of audience who were left motivated to start their own journey of physical fitness.
He emphasized that having good physical health is very extremely crucial and failing to focus on it always brings about negative consequences. He talked about the role that fitness plays in our modern sedentary way of living. He claimed that taking care of your body benefits your physical health and also your mental drive, determination and work ethic. “ Fitness takes time, but the result is always worth it ”, Maharjan emphasized, moving the audience of professionals, fitness enthusiasts and students to pursue a healthier living.
The session was attentively structured as Maharjan urged the attendees to kick start their own fitness journey by not just bestowing them with theoretical knowledge but also by providing them with practical advice. He outlined the immense importance of strength training, cardiovascular exercises as well as balanced nutrition to make fitness not just a destination to be reached but rather a journey to be adjourned. He shared how on his personal journey from a beginner to a world champion, he focused on tailored workouts and most importantly, consistency.
An interesting thing Maharjan did was to use scientific knowledge to support his explanation. He noted that keeping physically active improves heart health, lifts up emotions and helps keep the immune system strong. He showed using science that the myth weight lifting stunts growth in teenagers is untrue. The audience took every chance during the session to ask about applying his advice day-to-day.
He said being physically fit involves paying attention to both exercise and nutrition. He pointed out that including enough protein in your meals helps repair your muscles and staying well-hydrated makes your performance better. He advised the audience to avoid crash dieting which often ends in overeating and instead stick to healthy meals that will nourish them and last for a long time.
The meeting stood out because it was very interactive. Maharjan first showed a few simple exercises and how to do them and this made the audience giggle enthusiastically. As a result, stress reduction, a feeling of calm and benefits to mental health are all signs that keeping a healthy routine of exercise can be soothing in modern life. He suggested small regular actions that can help people reach their goals so the vision doesn’t look overwhelming.
How EMBARK College was brightly lit made the atmosphere more pleasant. The audience which included students, working adults and fitness enthusiasts, praised how the session was carefully put together and full of inspiring advice. Engaging in Q&A helped the viewers to digest and understand more.
